Thousands of volunteers will take to the streets of Pittsburgh neighborhoods and many Allegheny County communities next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 21- 23, for the annual Fall Redd Up, a citywide effort that involves removing litter and trash, planting and working on community gardens. Groups and individuals interested in participating as volunteers can contact Citizens Against Litter and Boris Weinstein at boris.weinstein@verizon.net or at 412-688-9120. Allegheny CleanWays, which assists neighborhoods with eliminating illegal dumpsites, will also participate in the Redd Up. Contact Myrna Newman for information at myrnan@alleghenycleanways.org or 412-381-1301.
